Painting
My earliest pieces are acrylic or watercolor. Now, I am painting with oil on canvas and other surfaces such as wood.
Quantum Series
2024-present
I have dedicated much of my time to exploring quantum mechanics on 2-D and 3-D surfaces through a multitude of mediums. I am especially interested in the theory of entanglement. As a result, many of the pieces in this series come with a matching pair.
Still You
20 x 24 inch oil, burlap cloth, mirror on canvas
The third and one of my favorite pieces of the series, Still You is the first painting that connects entanglement to human connections.
The mirror shows a sliver of the viewer’s reflection.
Quantum Dots
4 x 6 inch, oil on wood planks
Inspired by Agnes Martin’s work, I moved to much smaller canvases and experimented with layering paint.
Older Works
Below, you will find some of my older works. Most of them are acrylic, though I dabbled in watercolor and oil towards the end of those years.
Chinese Painting
I studied Chinese Painting for 3 years, from 2016 to 2019, and immensely benefited from this learning experience. It is very challenging to draw on a piece of very thin paper using Chinese paint with a variety of brushes. But failures and continuous endeavor helped me develop a sharper focus, better hand control, and higher sensitivity to colors. I also gained deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
